Three paths to savings. Most lead to $0.
Your plan handles prescriptions three different ways depending on the drug. Two of those ways cost you nothing. The third still saves you 30 to 80 percent. Here's how each one works.
MedImpact Network
The simplest path. Most of your prescriptions land here — over 1,300 covered drugs at every major in-network pharmacy. Walk in, show your card, walk out paying nothing.
Search a drug →How it works
- Your doctor sends the prescription to any in-network pharmacy.
- You show your ClearShare member ID at the counter.
- You pay $0. The plan pays the pharmacy directly — no claims, no reimbursements, no paperwork from you.
How it works
- Call Clearwater Direct at the number on your member ID.
- They issue a one-time virtual payment card loaded with the plan's money for that specific prescription.
- You bring that card to the pharmacy and use it like any debit card. You pay $0 out of pocket.
Clearwater Direct
For specialty drugs and select brand-name medications — about 120 drugs. One extra step compared to Tier 1: a quick phone call before the pharmacy visit. Still zero dollars out of pocket.
Confirm a specialty drug →Discount card backup
When a prescription isn't on either formulary, your plan includes a high-end discount card that saves 30 to 80 percent at over 60,000 pharmacies. No enrollment, no fees, no catch.
Learn about the discount card →How it works
- Search your prescription at the discount-card site (drug name + zip code).
- Compare prices across the chains near you.
- Show the coupon at the pharmacy and pay the discounted price. No claims, no reimbursements.
When does each path apply?
If your drug is on Tier 1 or Tier 2, those are your $0 paths. The discount card kicks in only for drugs that aren't on either formulary — and even then, you're saving 30 to 80 percent off retail. There is no path where you pay full price.
